National Alliance on Mental Illness – NAMI
NAMI is a national grassroots organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.  NAMI offers free education and support group programs for people living with mental illness and their loved ones.  The Austin chapter of NAMI offers more than nine education programs, including support groups, community meetings and other outreach vital to individuals and families when they need a place to turn.

National Alliance on Borderline Personality Disorder – NEA.BPD
NEA.BPD is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).  The NEA.BPD website is the gold standard for information, resources and trainings on BPD.  NEA.BPD also offers a free 12-week education and support group, called FAMILY CONNECTIONS, for the families and loved ones of persons with BPD.  The Austin chapter of NEA.BPD holds two FAMILY CONNECTIONS courses per year along with a free monthly drop-in support group on the first Monday of each month.  To be added to the email list for reminders for the Support Group and announcements for upcoming FAMILY CONNECTIONS classes, contact Eric Kunish at fcaustininfo@gmail.com.

DBSA – Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance
DBSA is a national organization that provides hope, help, support and education to improve the lives of people with mood disorders.  Founded by people living with mood disorders, DBSA’s vision, mission and programming are inspired by the lived experience of peers.  The DBSA website provides information and wellness tools for peers, family and friends, and professionals as well as links to online and in-person support groups.


PDAP – Palmer Drug Abuse Program
PDAP provides free services to teenagers and young adults who seek and have a desire to live a life free from the effects of drugs and alcohol. The program offers support and guidance to young people and their families whose lives have become unmanageable due to the devastating impact of substance abuse.  The website lists information on free meetings and resources in the Austin area.


PFCS – Positive Family Coaching Services
Ongoing coaching and support for parents of children and adolescents with biobehavioral disorders such as ADHD, Learning Disabilities and Sensory Processing Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mood Regulation Disorders, Anxiety Disorders and Personality Disorders.  PFCS runs continuously so that participants can first seek help, identify and solve a given set of problems, begin to manage on their own and then return to PFCS if and when future challenges arise that require new input and support.  The SERVICES page on the website has information on the weekly parent coaching classes and how to schedule individual sessions.
